I am originally from Lucknow but Gurugram has been my home for many years now. My journey as an artist started with a Diploma in Textile Designing from Lucknow. I worked with several leading fashion designers and also designed my own collections of hand-painted sarees, scarves, furnishings and lampshades for several years, experimenting with colours, dyes and a variety of fabrics.
Along the way, I developed an interest in art, which has now become an all-consuming passion for me. My art is an extension of me, it is a reflection of my love for nature, my passion for cycling and my life’s journey. I work with different mediums – acrylics, dry pastels, charcoal, pens and oils and have also been experimenting with mixed media.
My most recent collection is inspired by the vibrancy and beauty of Van Gogh, who I have studied very closely. My paintings depict elements of modern-day reality in the bold and dramatic style of the Master. Each original done in this style has an element of surprise, waiting to charm the viewer. As a tribute to him my collection also includes my renditions of many of his important works.
In addition to acrylic on canvas, I also have a limited collection of hand-painted ceramic plates inspired by my love for cycling and my long association with aviation through my aviator husband.
I also offer customised hand-painted sarees and lampshades.
Hope you enjoy browsing through my art!
